You may think that you do not have to worry about how much lean muscle that your body has if you are thin, and if you aren’t an athlete. Though most think of men when it comes to building up muscle mass, this is something that the ladies should be doing as well. Building lean muscle can have a lot of great benefits for both sexes, and has more to do with how you feel and how your body performs than how you look in your dress clothes. If you know how to build lean muscle, the benefits of this are too many to count.

There are a lot of people out there with back pain that they have had for a while. What those people don’t know is that there are times when simple weight training exercises meant to help with building lean muscle mass can actually help. Of course, those with damage to the spine are the exception, but some people just have backs that go out of place all of the time. This is usually due to weak muscles in the lower back area. Building lean muscle in the back area would help to keep the spine in place and can at times make all of the pain go away.

Building lean muscle mass can also make someone look leaner without them having to lose weight. Usually, those that follow a weight training routine are the ones that lose and gain at the same time. That means that they lose fat weight but gain muscle weight. They can step on the scale and see that how much they weight has not changed, but that is not going to be the case with the tape measure. They are going to be slimmer all the way around. They are also going to find they burn calories more efficiently and feel much better.

When it comes to overall health, building lean muscle is a great way to live longer and add quality to those extra years. The human body was not made to sit still, and the more active someone is the more muscle they usually have. Building lean muscle in a gym can help your body when you don’t have the time to run around and do it the natural way. You are going to avoid some aging problems when you take on weight training as a part of your regular exercise routine.

When you decide to start building lean muscle, there are a few things that you can do. When it comes to your diet, start eating foods that are higher in protein and cut down on your carbohydrates intake a bit. You can start out with free weights and other exercise that a personal trainer can help you with that were designed to help with building lean muscle. You don’t have to lift 200 pounds and have huge muscles to lift weights. You just have to lift enough to build that lean muscle tissue that is going to make you look and feel better for the rest of your life.

Lower Your Carbohydrate Intake To Lose Body Fat

April 20, 2008 on 10:49 pm | In Diet, Fat Loss, Metabolism, Nutrition | No Comments

Low carbohydrate diets have been hugely popular over the last decade or so. Many people have gotten great results at losing body fat while on these lower carb diets. However, they don’t always work well for everybody because some don’t take enough advantage of an exercises routine to help get rid of the extra fat on their bodies and some of the popular low carb diets call for you to eat an extremely low amount of carbohydrates, which is just too much for some people.

If you’re into weight training you need to take in some carbs for energy and to fill your muscles with glycogen. Of course many weight trainers want a defined appearance so they need to lose or keep fat off. Weight training itself will help give you a higher resting metabolism and burn the carbohydrates stored in your muscles. This is good because if do your cardio workouts after weight training you’ll be burning more fat because your body won’t have to burn as much glycogen (which the body will use before it starts burning fat).

Weight trainers and bodybuilders who are ectomorphic (tend to hold extra body fat) need to watch their carb intake more than those with other body types. Try eating most of your carbohydrates earlier in the day and avoid taking in very many later in the day. If you do cardio first thing in the morning or after weight training you’ll also burn more fat. Your carbohydrates should come from wheat bread or pasta, fruits, vegetables, and other quality sources. Avoiding junk food carbs should start you on your way to getting shredded.
