Weight Training Goals
May 11, 2009 on 10:02 pm | In Build Muscle, Weight Training Routines |Most people who are into weight training are trying to reach a certain goal. Sure, there are plenty of people who just go through the motions while lifting, always using the same amount of weight for the same amount of reps. If that’s what you want to do, that’s fine. But, most of us are looking to get stronger or build more muscle mass.
Whatever goal you are trying to reach through weight training, you need to know that it’s not going to happen overnight. This is especially true if you are a natural trainer. Trying to lift to much weight before you can handle it will just lead to injuries. Keep a training log and try to do an extra rep with the same weight that you did at your last workout. You may not get it this time, or even next time, but if you keep trying you’ll get it eventually. Once you can do a few more reps, add more weight. As you keep doing this over time, you’ll eventually build the strength and size you’re looking for.
